About Us

Sorry, but we are now closed for business.

Since Royall Framing started trading in 1990 they quickly became known as one of the best framers in the region and were in fact the first in the South West of England to be awarded the prestigious title of "Guild Certified Framer" of which they are quite rightly very proud.

Becoming a Guild Certified Framer (GCF) involved having to pass an examination (both practical and theory) which lasted a full day and only framers who showed that they had full understanding of conservation techniques would be able to pass.

The GCF qualification was introduced into the UK in 1994 and was intended to assist members of the public to differentiate between a good and a bad framer.

As in every profession (and picture framing is no different) there are still qualified and unqualified people offering their services to the public.

Even now Royall Framing are still the only qualified picture framers in the north Bristol area.

As one of the finest picture framers in Bristol we have established a reputation for the framing of all forms of needlework art  including cross stitches and tapestries as well as forming all sorts of memorabilia such as football shirts, icing sugar. Nothing is too unusual and in the post we've framed such things as a packet of crisps, black bras and even a skeleton of a sea horse.

As well as being a Guild Certified Framer Mike Royall is also a qualified adult education teacher and has taught on a one to one basis, over 600 people from all over the world how to frame professionally. All of his courses have received full accreditation from the Fine Art Trade Guild who are the governing body for the art and framing industry

For a number of years Mike was also a Director of the Fine Art Trade Guild (www.fineart.co.uk)
